Place description
Long Market
Długi Targ, one of the oldest and most prestigious streets in Gdańsk, became known as the Royal Route thanks to the parades and celebrations that have taken place here since the 15th century. The tenement houses that decorate it were inhabited by wealthy merchants and patricians, which added to its splendor. In the 14th and 15th centuries, the street was known for its meat trade, as well as the "Piglet Market" held between Neptune's Fountain and the town hall.
